This event is in the past.
Brought back by popular demand, we will be hosting another online conversation focused on Birds & Conservation at Pigeon Lake and Edmonton Area, with guest, PLWA employee and bird enthusiast, Emily Cicon.
Central Alberta is home to a diversity of songbirds, waterfowl, and landbirds. Have you seen any unusual birds lately? Our guest will highlight some of our most common and also fascinating resident and nesting species - identifying factors and life history traits. We will also be discussing simple ways to improve your property to keep the birds healthy and safe.
Emily Cicon is an Environmental Science Intern with the Pigeon Lake Watershed Association. She has a Master’s Degree in Conservation Biology and has specialized in bird conservation and research, working previously with the University of Alberta and the Beaverhill Bird Observatory.
