Wood Duck Box

Stewardship & EducationWood Duck Box

Enhance your families wildlife enjoyment around Pigeon Lake by installing a wood duck nest box. Wood ducks and other wildlife known as cavity dependent nesters will use a wood duck box. Normally they nest in tree cavities made by woodpeckers, disease or lightning.

Human impacts on the forest have reduced the availability of suitable trees. Other cavity nesting birds that may use your nest box include: hooded mergansers, tree swallows, great crested flycatchers and screech owls.

Order your Wood Duck Box by contacting The Blue Heron Gallery:

Email: blueheronartisans@hotmail.com

Price: $75

Depending on demand, it takes a week or two to fill the order.

Laurie makes each to order – Thanks Laurie!

A terrific way to encourage people to be Lake Healthy Stewards.

Pass on ideas and stories of other ways to be great stewards.
