1956-2001 - Further Development & Preservation of Rundle’s Mission

Highlights of the 50 years of development included:

1956 - Purchase of land from Ben Richardson and Joe Allen with donations of land by Hobart & Sarah Dowler

1965 - Donation of 13.4 acres by Sarah Dowler

1980 - Completion of resident houses on site

1990 - Purchase of land around the artesian spring from Donovan Dowler and subsequent sale to the Government of Alberta for designation as a historical site

1992 - Purchase of 5 acres of residence and lakeshore land at Rundle’s Mission

2001 - Construction of the current interpretive boardwalk running throughout Rundle’s Mission
