1957 - Shoreline Alterations at Argentia

“The waterfront [at Lot 74] was nothing but reeds, and bulrushes. A caterpillar tractor was used to push the reed, and sand onto the beach…Beach owners have been plagued with many problems; high water, low water, and ice destruction. Many solutions such as retaining wall, and rocks have been tried. The most effective solution for us, has been drill stem pipe driven into the shore, to a depth of 30 feet.'“
