1958 - Shoreline Damage

Many owners with lakefront property were known to utilize methods that nowadays would be discouraged. This account and following observation details one of the more unconventional methods of altering the shoreline of Pigeon Lake.

“Our first project was making sure we could get down to the beach and have a place for the children to play. It wasn’t much of a beach as it was so rocky; to develop the beach we blasted it with dynamite. We put in a driveway and hauled rocks from the beach….”
