1982 - Beaver Presence at Sundance Beach

Observations by residents of Sundance Beach regarding an active beaver population and industrious building of a dam in between two property lots.

“The rodent residents quietly went about their work pretty much unnoticed by the human populace. That is, until their endeavour to include beachfront properties along the lakeshore. Partially gnawed and fallen, which increased in number almost on a nightly basis, raised the alarm…In the end the decision to ‘remove’ was reached at a well-attended meeting in Edmonton in the fall of 1982. Some short time alter the dam was breached, the pond drained and it was over.”
