2016-07-09 - Mission Beach Demonstration Garden & Community planting

Planted by the community with the support of Leduc County in 2016. As so many lots on the north side of the lake have long lawns which do not do much to slow and clean water, we show a garden running lawns before the road. The site helps to reduce pollutants & nutrients entering the lake from runoff for better water quality. A mix of grasses and native flowering plants with deeper roots and good for bees an other pollinators. It was going to be one long garden but the residents that came to the information session said put in a break so kids don’t have to walk through or go around to go to the lake.
