1967 - Establishment of Pigeon Lake Provincial Park

The Pigeon Lake Provincial Park opened in 1967, and now is observed as a large campground surrounded by mixed forests with boat launch, lake view sites and showers. Hiking and biking on forested trails is available in the spring and summer while in the winter there are groomed ski trails. The beach at the provincial park is wide, sandy and gently sloped with a swimming area that deepens faster than Ma-Me-O Beach. The Pigeon Lake Provincial Park sees a high volume of activity in the warmer months. Bird spotting in the Pigeon Lake Provincial Park is very popular as well with many different species observed in conjunction with the PLWA Flora and Fauna Bingo programming. This area is a designated conservation area which also encourages the proper stewardship and respect for the natural environment by all visitors.
